Zeke

Zeke is an Aussie rocker with an English accent - at least, sometimes. He firmly believes he can channel the old legends of rock'n'roll into his own body, and sometimes this makes him talk... erm...a little bit funny. "All the best rockers 'ave accents," he frequently snarls at his bandmates.

The leader of the band, Zeke is a charming, funny and ultra-confident frontman; he’s the band’s sex symbol, and a certified wild animal on stage. However, spend more than a couple of hours around him and you'll see he's a complex little bag of neuroses. First off, Zeke isn’t nearly as confident as he wants us to believe. Inside he is full of self-doubt, insecurities, phobias and superstitions, and isn’t comfortable with anything happening outside of his control.

Zeke joined the RockDogs after his previous outfit Bucktoothed Nosferatu disbanded in a fit of pique. They'd been practicing for three years and failed to land a worldwide recording contract. Come to think of it they failed to land a single gig, either. Somehow though, Zeke has a habit of landing on his feet and is now enjoying the reduced responsibility of being a RockDog. Jamie, the guitarist, is ostensibly in control of the band’s music and direction and writes many of the songs not that this stops Zeke from feeling the need make major band decisions on a whim, and reasserting the fact that the RockDogs are a simple, good old fashioned rock band rather than the experimental indie outfit that Jamie seems to want to turn them into.

Zeke is a hopeless liar and too delusional to notice the consequences of his rash actions. Musically, he is only concerned about the entertainment aspect of the show - he likes bands that feature strong, powerful, all-dominating lead singers and gets bored quickly with guitar solos and instrumentals.

Zeke likes to tell people that he’s Billy Idol’s love child and is alarmed when his rich real estate mogul of a mother reminds him that it’s not the case - in truth, she did mis-spend her youth as a groupie back in the day, but she was far more into Leo Sayer than Billy Idol. Hmm. Zeke has a hard time dealing with this dream being dashed, and the relationship between he and his mum is lukewarm to say the least.

Zeke is always penniless, and is always getting his girlfriends to lend him money. He only asks for five dollars at a time so as not to alarm them, and is surprised to learn how much debt he racks up. He's currently dating Trendi, who really seems to be into him. Zeke's not entirely sure if he likes that. It's been six weeks, after all... she's just being greedy, right? Surely it's time to share the Zeke love around?
